ORIGINATION / REPEAT SET UP COSTS?

Origination is the general term referring to the creation of the actual screen, die, template or jacquard needed to apply your personalisation to each product. For screen printing a separate screen is required for each colour, and will be charged accordingly.

For exact repeat orders, the origination can be re-used, although there may be a set-up charge for setting up the machinery required.

Origination costs vary dramatically depending on the product and the type of personalisation required.

DELIVERY CARRIAGE

Every effort will be made to deliver on time but any delivery date specified is a best estimate and no liability is accepted for any loss arising from delay or error in delivery of the goods. All deliveries will be charged at the prevailing rates applying at the date of such delivery.

Special rush deliveries can usually be arranged but will be subject to additional charges (ie rush print charges and rush delivery charges) which will be charged to you at current commercial rates.

QUANTITY VARIATION (OVERAGES)

Every effort will be made to deliver exact quantities but there would be a 10% plus or minus of the quantity of printed goods ordered and these will be charged on at the contracted price.

ARTWORK

The following details are provided for your guidance so that we can reproduce your design/logo as clearly as possible. We provide artwork proofs for your approval prior to production. Delivery times quoted always start from receipt of your artwork approval. If there is anything unclear then please telephone our sales department who will try to resolve any problems.

We provide an artwork service to adapt your logo and/or text to fit the print area of each product we supply. To enable us to do this we require a copy of your logo and details and layout of any text that you require. If your logo consists of more than one colour we require these to be supplied colour separated. You should supply the name of the fonts used. We can receive your artwork electronically in a MAC based format..

ELECTRONIC ARTWORK
(in order of preference)

Vector eps with text as curves
Adobe Illustrator file with text as curves
JPEG (we will have to convert this into an eps format, for which there is a charge)

If you are unable to supply the artwork in one of the above formats, we can convert your artwork to a useable format. There will however be a charge for the time spent in completing this work. The cost of this is normally £20 to £25, subject to the site of artwork.

PRINTING METHODS

Q: What is screen printing?
A: Screen printing: The most common method of personalising our product ranges. Each colour of your design is put onto an individual screen, ie a screen for each colour in your design.A screen is a frame with a precision woven mesh stretched over it drum tight. The screen is coated with a photo-sensitive emulsion and your image is burned onto it with an ultra violet light. Screen printing inks are then placed into the frame and the ink is pushed through the burned image with a squeege to replicate the design onto the product of your choice.

Q: What is engraving?
A: This type of marking process is produced by using a diamond type tool to mark/etch into the material to reproduce your design. This leaves a permanent design on the product.

Q: What is foil blocking?
A: Foil blocking is referred to by many names: A few are embossing, gold blocking, blocking etc. The print method is a combination of heat and pressure applied via a block or die onto a coloured foil, this is stamped on to the product. This method of printing is used on leather goods, diaries etc. It is not usually suitable for multicolour printing or designs with very fine detail.

Q: What is laser engraving?
A: Laser engraving can be used to decorate many substrates, but is mainly used on metals. It leaves a black/dark grey image on metal surfaces. The process is that of the laser printing dots, very similar to the way your paper printer prints. With the ability to print highly detailed graphic images. The finished product is a quality marking that captures good detail of the image you want reproduced.

Q: What is embroidery?
A: Embroidery is a method of stitching a design/logo onto clothing etc. Almost exclusively produced on computer controled embroidery machines. Firstly your design is "digitized" onto a computer disk or cd. This process converts your design into the relevant software language for the machine used and this then controls the stitching of the design and the colours onto the garment.

Q: What is print position?
A: Please indicate if you have a preferred position that you would like the item marked. For example a folder you may want to have it printed bottom right hand corner or centered. If you have a preference please indicate or leave blank and we will printed in the most suitable position for your product and your design.
